Beginning Therapy

Many of us will go through difficult periods in life where we experience distressing emotions or struggle to feel a sense of connection in our relationships with others, or ourselves. During these times we can benefit from therapy to uncover the root of our difficulties.

Through doing this, we can build on our understanding and kindness towards ourselves, and begin to carve out the way forward towards a more satisfying and meaningful life.

About

Therapy With Me

My approach to therapy is warm, empathic, and genuine. It is important to me to create a space that feels safe, and where my clients feel heard and understood.

Some people come to see me for help with a specific issue such as anxiety, or difficulties with managing stress at work. Others meet with me to have a space where they can be free to reflect and work towards a greater sense of understanding, and in turn compassion, towards themselves.

Once we agree to begin therapy I meet with my clients weekly at the same time each week.

Currently I have some limited availability on Friday and Saturday Mornings.

My clinic is located in East London, however I am currently offering remote sessions only.

I offer sessions to adolescents and adults.

My Approach

Everyone I meet is unique, and so I use an integrated approach in therapy, meaning I combine thinking from a range of evidence-based therapies to provide an individual approach for my clients.

Some of the therapeutic modalities I draw from include: Mentalisation based therapy, Compassion Focused therapy, Psychodynamic and Acceptance and Commitment therapy.

I adopt a trauma-informed, attachment focused stance in my work.

My Experience

I have over ten years experience, working in a wide variety of NHS mental health settings including adult mental health, child and adolescent services, inpatient facilities, and the psychological impact of physical health concerns. I have supported my clients through a wide range of difficulties including: low mood, anxiety, shame, trauma, stress, difficulties associated with pregnancy and becoming a parent, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem.

I currently work part time as a senior clinical psychologist in an NHS service for people working through adverse experiences in childhood, such as sexual abuse, neglect and other forms of trauma.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and completed my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL).
